About Stine Mai Designs

Architect and woodworker Stine Mai Sjøgaard explores design and handcrafted traditions inherited through generations in her Copenhagen studio and workshop.

Modern society is accelerating in speed and information streams, Stine Mai seeks out a conscious way of being – in the practice of making as well as in the language of the artworks.

Stine Mai’s glassworks and suncatchers invite you to sit down, observe the sensations of light change over a minute, an hour, a day.

As a profesionally trained cabinet-maker, wood and handmade traditions will always be root and center of all practices, attention to detail co-existing no matter the supplies at hand.

Stine Mai believes in honesty in making, and the unquestionable value it brings; thriving and belonging is strongly connected to aesthetic and conscious surroundings, brought by objects reminding you of the simple and enchanting wonders of everyday life.

The workshop was established in 2019, and has been run full-time since 2022.
